Hand Therapy and Upper Extremity Rehabilitation

Our Occupational Therapists specialize in treating the hand and upper extremity at Coastal Movement Specialists. Whether you are experiencing general arthritic pain, have had a traumatic injury, or are recovering from a hand or arm surgery, our occupational therapists are here to help you!

Hand and Upper Extremity Conditions

We treat a wide range of injuries and conditions. Below are a list of our most commonly treated areas:

Our Process

Evaluation

Together, we evaluate any deficits, complaints, or pains you are experiencing. We take detailed measurements to be able to track progress over time. During this process, we collaborate on a plan to reach your desired therapy goals.

Treatment

We will set a plan of care and see you for an agreed upon amount of visits. Treatments include manual therapy such as stretching and massage and exercises to regain your range of motion, strength, and function.

Home Exercise Program

You will be given instructions on how you can work on your own at home which will help you speed up your recovery and therapy timeline.

Orthotic Fabrication

Our occupational therapists are trained in custom orthotic fabrication. Whether you need to be immobilized after surgery, need a splint to wear at night time to decrease pain, or need an orthotic to further your range of motion, our therapists can create custom orthotics to help you achieve these goals.
